NVR Recorders
Australia's complete range of NVR recorders (Network Video Recorders) for IP camera surveillance — from 4-channel home units to 32-channel enterprise systems. Every NVR we stock supports the open ONVIF standard, includes built-in PoE switching, supports up to 4K (8MP) per channel, and ships with full Australian warranty support.
Choosing the right channel count
- 4-channel NVR — single-storey homes with up to 4 cameras.
- 8-channel NVR — two-storey homes, small businesses, properties needing perimeter + interior coverage.
- 16-channel NVR — commercial premises, warehouses, multi-building sites, large rural properties.
- 32-channel and above — enterprise installations, multi-tenant buildings, hospitality venues.
Built-in PoE: one cable per camera
Every NVR we stock includes built-in PoE switching — a single Cat6 cable from the recorder to each camera carries both video and electrical power. No separate power adapters, no extra cabling. PoE ports also auto-detect the camera, so cameras self-configure on first connection. For installations beyond the recorder's port count, add a PoE switch from our PoE switches collection.
Storage: how many days do I need?
Recording capacity scales with channel count, resolution, and frame rate. Rough guide for continuous 24/7 recording at 4MP:
- 4 cameras + 2TB HDD ≈ 30 days of footage
- 8 cameras + 4TB HDD ≈ 30 days
- 16 cameras + 8TB HDD ≈ 30 days
Motion-only recording extends these times 3–5×. For longer retention, browse our surveillance hard drives (Seagate SkyHawk, WD Purple).
NVR sub-collections by brand

Frequently asked questions
What is an NVR?
An NVR (Network Video Recorder) is a dedicated appliance that records video from IP cameras over a standard network connection. Unlike older DVRs that use coaxial cable for analogue cameras, an NVR connects to cameras via Cat6 Ethernet — typically with built-in PoE so the same cable also powers each camera. The NVR stores recordings to an internal hard drive and exposes live and recorded video to phones, tablets, and PCs.
How many channels do I need?
Channels = the maximum number of cameras the NVR can record at once. Common sizes: 4-channel (single-storey homes), 8-channel (two-storey homes, small businesses), 16-channel (commercial, multi-building), 32/64-channel (enterprise). Pick one size larger than your current camera count to allow future expansion.
Does the NVR come with a hard drive?
Some models ship with a factory-fitted surveillance-grade hard drive (look for 'with 4TB HDD' in the title); most ship empty so you can size the drive to your retention needs. We stock Seagate SkyHawk and WD Purple surveillance drives separately.
Will any IP camera work with my NVR?
All NVRs we sell support the ONVIF Profile S standard, so any ONVIF-compatible IP camera will record successfully. For full feature support — AI detection, two-way audio, brand-specific analytics — pair the NVR with cameras from the same brand.
Can I view the NVR remotely on my phone?
Yes. Every NVR supports a free smartphone app (Hik-Connect for Hikvision and HiLook, DMSS for Dahua, IDIS Mobile, etc.). After plugging the recorder into your router, scan the QR code on the device to add it to your phone — live view and playback work from anywhere with internet.
